Senior Quantity Surveyor — Role Overview
This senior commercial role places you at the heart of a complex data centre build, with full ownership of cost control, procurement strategy, and subcontractor management. You will drive commercial outcomes across multiple work packages while maintaining direct client relationships.
Senior Quantity Surveyor — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Measuring work packages from drawings and developing accurate package pricing using applied rates
• Managing the project budget under direction of the Project Director, ensuring cost control throughout
• Leading procurement activities and overseeing multiple complex subcontract packages
• Managing direct client communications and maintaining strong commercial relationships
• Compiling monthly commercial reports in accordance with established procedures
• Attending and contributing to monthly commercial and subcontractor meetings
• Resolving client and subcontractor disputes effectively and efficiently
• Submitting claims and contractual notices within required timeframes
• Documenting cost changes to work scopes and preparing monthly valuations and final accounts
Senior Quantity Surveyor — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• 8+ years' experience in a senior quantity surveying role
• Bachelor's degree or relevant professional qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Proven track record in commercial management, cost control, and subcontractor administration
• Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills
• Strong analytical ability with meticulous attention to detail
Desirable:
• Previous data centre or mission-critical facility experience
• Experience working on international projects or with international contractors
