Project Manager — Role Overview
This Project Manager role is crucial to the successful delivery of complex engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project planning, execution, and closeout, ensuring client requirements are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Project Manager — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Managing a project or portfolio of projects.
• Overseeing all aspects of project planning, adhering to the Planning SOP.
• Reporting to the Planning Department, Business Unit, and Project Management.
• Developing and maintaining schedules for pre-construction, construction, and commissioning.
• Developing and maintaining progress databases.
• Performing milestone projections and delay/float path analysis.
• Implementing Earned Value Management systems.
• Monitoring schedule performance and productivity.
• Auditing progress on site.
• Attending schedule meetings and liaising with clients and subcontractors.
• Preparing tender schedules and histograms.
• Leading planning meetings and supporting weekly workface planning systems.
• Managing resource and cash loading of schedules.
• Providing data for payment applications and completing contract review reports.
• Ensuring the quality and accuracy of schedules and reports.
• Making relevant parties aware of issues and advising on solutions.
• Recording delay and disruption and assisting in the preparation of claims.
• Training staff as required.
• Establishing performance and delivery criteria.
• Developing and administering quality control provisions.
• Liaising with the client on KPI development and implementation.
• Championing company Safety implementation on site.
• Tracking PAS and reporting at weekly client update meetings.
• Authorising the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Approving contractor invoices for payment.
• Representing the company in business with customers, consultants, contractors, and other agencies.
• Researching and preparing reports pertaining to contractual issues, operations, policies, and procedures.
• Planning all resources, including labour, materials, and subcontractors.
• Managing and driving a large team to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Ensuring project profitability.
Project Manager — Ideal Candidate
• A trade background or a third level qualification.
• Proven Project Management experience.
• A track record of coordinating and managing large projects.
• Diploma/ Degree Qualification.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment.
• Ability to drive a large-scale project.
