Project Manager — Role Overview
This Project Manager role is crucial for the successful execution of data centre projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate project teams, manage financial performance, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Project Manager — Responsibilities
As Project Manager, you will:
- Identify and manage project risks to meet stakeholder expectations.
- Meet key performance indicator (KPI) targets, including financial metrics, cash management, health & safety, quality & environmental, and personal performance.
- Oversee profit & loss for projects and deliver results as per set targets.
- Monitor financial performance and participate in monthly operating report meetings.
- Ensure standards are met regarding culture, health & safety, quality, environment, security, and integrity.
- Liaise with key Project Stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Develop and implement Project Schedules, coordinating with all trades and other works.
- Manage and motivate Project construction and Engineering teams.
- Oversee Project cost / revenue control and report performance and issue weekly reports.
- Develop and implement test and commissioning procedures.
Project Manager — Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Project Manager position.
- Professional project management qualifications or a trade qualification.
- Detailed understanding and experience of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data centre environment, including Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS Systems, Battery Banks, ATS/STS Units, PDU Units, Air Handling Units, Chilled Water Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, and Fire Suppression Systems (pre-action sprinklers).
- Understanding all the associated safety code related requirements.
- Experience in Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Control Measures.
- Experience in vendor management.
- Experience in Project Management principles & delivering DC project upgrade works.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.
- Ability to communicate technical and business problems in a non-technical manner.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment.
- Travel and working abroad will be required.
