Project Director — Role Overview
This Project Director role is responsible for the management and coordination of all project aspects. You will lead the project team, interface with the client, and ensure the safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery of fully integrated builds.
Project Director — Responsibilities
As Project Director, you will:
- Schedule and chair meetings with your team, the Design team, and the Client.
- Follow up and ensure timely close out of outstanding items.
- Actively contribute to EHS and QA meetings.
- Attend Morning White board/evening schedule meetings as necessary.
- Implement the Project audit plan and review weekly Project audits.
- Address open items with your team and discuss findings with the Construction Manager and BU Leads.
- Drive closure of all open Audit findings and communicate findings effectively.
- Manage overall project operations, ensuring Safety, Quality, and Environmental objectives.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs and project specifications.
- Plan procurement and ensure engineering meets deadlines.
- Review progress against plan and provide clear reporting to the project team and senior management.
- Manage budgets and costs effectively.
- Attend client meetings and foster good client relations.
- Identify improvement opportunities and make training available to your team and Sub-contractors.
- Set training standards for staff and mentor the team.
- Review weekly progress updates with the project planner and implement strategies to keep the project on track.
- Ensure regular sub-contractor Meetings are established.
- Guide and assist your project team and align expectations with project requirements.
- Empower the Construction Manager to set up a functional site and track against KPIs.
Project Director — Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills:
- Engineering Degree or recognised trade qualification
- 10+ years’ experience of managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
- Thorough knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural packages
- Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
- Ability to efficiently manage a team by setting expectations, delegation, and review.
- Strong communication & computer skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Close attention to detail
- Good team-working skills
