This internship provides the opportunity to manage bid proposals and serve as the primary point of contact for clients. You will play a key role in presenting proposals to both internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring comprehensive project planning and execution.
Pre-Construction Project Manager — Responsibilities
As a Pre-Construction Project Manager intern, you will:
- Review project documentation and establish a project execution plan for proposals.
- Manage estimating, preconstruction, and business unit resources allocated to bid projects.
- Prepare and deliver presentations for internal project reviews and client meetings.
- Collaborate with designers to develop detailed design proposals.
- Work with the delivery business unit to assemble a project team.
- Review tender deliverables and formulate responses.
- Ensure project information is communicated effectively within the team.
- Conduct critical project reviews and propose alternative solutions for improved delivery.
- Assess construction methodologies to identify programme implications and temporary works requirements.
- Develop project schedules in collaboration with the project team.
- Plan project logistics and create draft logistics plans.
- Engage with the supply chain to identify potential partners.
- Review project responsibility matrices to clarify subcontractor scopes.
- Evaluate subcontract proposals and conduct technical/commercial comparisons.
- Review project control sheets and estimates with the bid manager and estimators.
- Assess lifting and crane requirements and develop a crane strategy.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
Pre-Construction Project Manager — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- A third-level degree in an Engineering subject (Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, or similar).
- 5-10 years of experience, including 5 years as a Project Manager.
- Experience in Preconstruction Project Management.
- Project Management experience.
