Mechanical Project Manager — Role Overview
You will own the mechanical scope end-to-end—managing cost, schedule, and budgets across large-scale data centre construction. This is a hands-on leadership position where your decisions directly impact project delivery and commercial outcomes.
Mechanical Project Manager — Responsibilities
• Analyse, track and manage critical milestone activities to prevent schedule slip across mechanical workstreams
• Review construction proposals, pricing and scopes for technical and commercial alignment
• Control all mechanical SOW costs: direct labour, subcontractors, materials, plant/equipment, variations and valuations
• Plan daily site operations in partnership with package managers and coordinate subcontractor progress against schedule and manpower targets
• Administer the snagging system, ensuring supervisors return weekly punch lists and all items are distributed and tracked to closure
• Issue labour and subcontractor hours to time administrators for central tracking
• Represent mechanical delivery at site meetings, project reviews, engineering reviews, planning sessions and handover meetings
• Drive close-out activities: Final Account, O&M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, material and plant relocations, Project Plan
• Produce weekly internal progress reports with percentage complete by WBS, risk flags and delivery concerns
• Track material deliveries against project schedule and hold weekly commercial meetings to capture variations and issue costs
• Champion QHSE culture and support site safety management alongside Package Manager and Safety Advisor
• Develop and implement company procedures with package managers and ensure robust change management for cost and programme impacts
Mechanical Project Manager — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Proven track record in Mechanical Project Management with ability to drive programmes while controlling scope, schedule and budget
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing large installation projects, specifically within data centre delivery
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical design and build for data centre environments
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems and their integration into critical facilities
Desirable:
• Experience working with Tier-1 contractors or major EPC firms
• Familiarity with European construction markets and regulatory frameworks
