Mechanical Engineer — Role Overview

This Mechanical Engineer position sits at the heart of project delivery, bridging design, procurement, and site execution. You will drive technical coordination across multi-disciplinary teams and ensure seamless integration of mechanical services within fast-track data centre environments.

Mechanical Engineer — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Reviewing tender documentation and selecting plant, materials and submittals for data centre mechanical systems
• Coordinating services integration and overseeing production of coordinated drawings
• Managing design deliverables and ensuring all HVAC outputs meet project and safety criteria
• Sequencing pipework installation through direct communication with project teams to meet programme dates
• Commercially validating projects from estimating handover through full technical procurement
• Managing specialist sub-contractors, equipment suppliers and installation standards
• Overseeing site works, programme delivery, commissioning and final handover
• Documenting and costing scope changes, preparing monthly valuations and final accounts
• Preparing method statements and risk assessments for construction activities
• Maintaining clear client communications and design management protocols

Mechanical Engineer — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• Previous experience in a similar Mechanical Engineer role within a mechanical and electrical contracting environment
• Proven design management experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to validate projects and manage procurement
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

Desirable:
• Data centre or critical infrastructure project experience
• Experience with fast-track, high-integrity delivery environments
