Logistics Manager — Role Overview

You will report directly to the Project Director and take full ownership of site logistics operations, coordinating subcontractors and materials to keep a complex data centre build on schedule. This is a hands-on management position where your decisions directly impact project efficiency and safety.

Logistics Manager — Responsibilities

• Manage the site compound and all designated storage areas to maximise efficiency and safety
• Oversee booking and coordination of all material deliveries to and from site
• Coordinate closely with subcontractors on delivery schedules, storage locations, and access routes
• Maintain organisational control of site deliveries to ensure structured, orderly material flow
• Attend pre-start meetings to communicate logistics procedures, storage limitations, and Datascope booking requirements
• Monitor and manage traffic movement across site, ensuring safe and efficient vehicle flow
• Promote 'just-in-time' delivery approaches to reduce congestion and optimise operations
• Ensure all loading and unloading occurs within designated compounds to prevent site road disruption
• Lead and supervise logistics operatives, enforcing safety standards and project requirements
• Maintain accurate records of labour allocation, delivery tracking, and work progress reporting

Logistics Manager — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• 3+ years' experience in logistics, materials management, or similar role on large-scale construction projects
• Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing teams of operatives and subcontractors
• In-depth practical knowledge of load management, storage allocation, subcontractor coordination, and on-site materials handling
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with ability to plan, prioritise, and execute efficiently
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards

Desirable:
• 3rd level qualification in engineering or construction-related discipline (or strong trades background with equivalent experience)
• 2+ years' specific experience in logistics/materials management on major projects
• Experience with Datascope or similar logistics and delivery management systems
