Scope of the Role:
Reporting to the Group Head of Procurement, the Procurement Support Manager will play a pivotal role in strengthening and maturing Our Client’s procurement capability. The role is responsible for embedding consistent, best‑practice procurement processes, optimising operational effectiveness, and ensuring robust governance and compliance across all procurement activities. Acting as a key enabler to the wider procurement function, this position combines strategic oversight with hands‑on operational leadership to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, risk management and value creation.
The ideal candidate will bring broad category exposure and a deep understanding of procurement best practices, supported by proven experience in process governance, compliance, systems and team leadership—ideally within a construction or engineering environment. Strong stakeholder engagement, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to translate strategy into practical, scalable solutions will be critical to success in this role
Group Procurement Support Manager — Responsibilities
• Provide strong leadership and direction to the Head Office Procurement team, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance and accountable culture.
• Drive continuous improvement, structured change management and capability development across procurement support functions.
• Own and manage the procurement incentive programmes, including governance, tracking, validation and annual reporting to ensure full value realisation.
• Maintain and develop the Procurement Information Hub, ensuring it functions as a clear, accessible landing page for policies, guidance, updates and tools.
• Oversee compliance, audits and SOP governance, ensuring procurement processes are consistently applied, audit‑ready and aligned to business and regulatory requirements.
• Lead procurement audit activity, analyse outcomes and drive remediation and improvement initiatives where required.
• Manage and maintain procurement SOPs, workflows and controls, updating these in response to business needs and audit findings.
• Conduct regular SAP access reviews for procurement users, ensuring appropriate system access, segregation of duties and compliance.
• Own and deliver the Procurement Technology Roadmap, including prioritisation, implementation and benefits tracking of tools such as VIM, Ariba and supplier onboarding platforms, in partnership with the Procurement IT function.
• Champion ERP and procurement system enhancements, tracking implementation status and ensuring adoption across teams.
• Oversee Head Office Procurement support, ensuring scope, value, compliance and performance are actively managed.
• Support risk governance through the development and rollout of procurement risk measurement frameworks, including delivery of the 2026 risk measurement programme.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify, measure and mitigate commercial, operational and supply chain risk.
• Own procurement performance measurement, defining and tracking KPIs, and producing clear, actionable monthly and divisional procurement performance reporting, including updates to the divisional performance page.
• Produce and oversee procurement communications, including the procurement newsletter, quarterly commodity reports, and structured reporting aligned to senior leadership requirements.
• Partner with EU project teams to monitor and report on supplier quality, performance and compliance.
• Conduct structured quarterly business reviews with strategic suppliers, maintaining detailed supplier profiles and performance records.
• Lead and support sustainability initiatives across procurement, including supply‑chain engagement and performance improvement, and specific programmes such as Green Fleet, ensuring Our Client closes gaps relative to industry standards.
• Support and enable delivery of Our Client’s Go Beyond strategy, ensuring procurement and supply chain pillars are executed consistently and effectively across the organisation.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by your line manager.

• A minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience in procurement, ideally gained within the construction, engineering or capital projects sector.
• Demonstrated success delivering strategic procurement initiatives and managing complex projects from conception through execution.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with the ability to influence and align cross‑functional teams.
• Highly organised and detail‑oriented, with a process‑driven, results‑focused approach and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Proven proficiency in ERP platforms, procurement technologies and data analytics tools, with the ability to leverage insights to inform decision‑making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel as required to support business and project needs.
