Group Principal Duty Holder — Role Overview

As Group Principal Duty Holder, you will maintain the highest standards of electrical work across the organization. You'll be responsible for ensuring the competency and training of personnel engaged in electrical installations and testing, while upholding rigorous safety protocols.

Group Principal Duty Holder — Responsibilities

As Group Principal Duty Holder, you will:

  • Act as the "Lead coordinator" of the Electrical Working Group, updating and enhancing operational procedures for LV and MV systems.
  • Develop standards, processes, procedures, and training material related to Electrical Safety and ESSOW.
  • Support electrical accident/incident investigations, conducting root cause analysis and recommending procedural changes.
  • Collaborate with the QEHS department, following established procedures.
  • Manage a Group Quarterly COHE audit across all projects and business units.
  • Stay informed on relevant electrical safety standards and ensure policies are up to date.
  • Review and provide feedback on Commissioning KPI Audits.
  • Manage the appointment process for all authorised persons within the group.
  • Ensure persons engaged in electrical installations and testing are competent, adequately trained, and suitably qualified.
  • Ensure electrical installations are conducted safely, using established safe systems of work.
  • Maintain Safe Electric certification/membership, working with finance to prevent lapses.
  • Ensure operational procedures detail statutory and legal requirements for authorised persons in all operating regions.
  • Fulfill conditions set by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities [CRU] in Ireland.

Group Principal Duty Holder — Ideal Candidate

Desirable Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Proven experience in the role of Principal Duty Holder.
  • Strong understanding of ANSI/NETA, CIBSE, BSRIA, ASHRAE, CER, 2016, Electrical Safety Supervisory Criteria Document, EN 50110-1, 2013, ESB, 2008, NFPA-70E, 2015, Statutory Instruments, 2007. S.I.299: Part 3.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Project management skills and qualification (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel weekly within Europe.
