Financial Accountant — Role Overview
This hands-on Financial Accountant position sits at the heart of finance operations, managing period-end close activities across multiple entities while driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with the Finance Director and budget holders, combining technical accounting expertise with commercial business partnering.
Financial Accountant — Responsibilities
• Own period-end close activities, P&L and Balance Sheet preparation for multiple entities and jurisdictions
• Maintain full balance sheet reconciliation integrity, including complex intercompany account movements
• Ensure bank reconciliation accuracy, oversee payroll preparation and monitor cashflow
• Reconcile and report key P&L costs by business stream, conducting monthly reviews with budget holders
• Prepare Statutory Accounts and manage external auditor relationships
• Deliver financial KPI reporting and present monthly performance reports to the Finance Director
• Support the annual budget process and ad hoc information requests from stakeholders
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and supervise finance team members
• Drive process and control enhancements across all finance activities
Financial Accountant — Ideal Candidate
Essential
• Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with 3+ years PQE in a similar multi-entity role
• Demonstrated experience with period-end close, statutory accounts preparation and external audit liaison
• Strong technical accounting skills including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting and cashflow management
• Proven ability to multi-task across competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with confidence interacting at all levels
Desirable
• Commercial awareness and business acumen to support strategic decision-making
• Experience building effective relationships across departments and with external parties
