CSA Construction Manager — Role Overview
This is a pivotal leadership position driving the CSA work package delivery on a fast-track, technically complex data centre build. You will direct a multi-disciplinary team through all phases from procurement and design coordination through to final handover.
CSA Construction Manager — Responsibilities
You will lead and manage the CSA team (supervisors, engineers, and package managers) to ensure successful delivery of all Civil, Structural and Architectural scope. Oversee site safety in partnership with the Project Manager and Safety Team, embedding a culture of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental excellence. Coordinate and monitor procurement, design, engineering and installation of CSA works. Develop delivery strategies for CSA work packages and support commercial preparation of scope documents and subcontract packages. Review client designs, identify discrepancies or deviations from standards, and lead resolution to protect contractual and commercial interests. Work closely with QA/QC teams to develop and manage site quality plans ensuring compliance. Manage day-to-day site operations including subcontractor performance, resource allocation and progress tracking. Develop, manage and report on project schedules alongside Planning, Project Management and subcontractors. Liaise with design teams to prioritise and issue construction information aligned to programme demands. Chair weekly progress meetings with CSA subcontractors and ensure accurate documentation. Attend project meetings and provide clear reporting to management. Oversee project close-out including punch lists, safety files, QA documentation and handover. Support commercial meetings to capture variations and enable accurate client change management. Review drawings, setting-out information and coordinate builders works drawings related to MEP services. Prepare and issue daily and weekly project reports.
CSA Construction Manager — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- Relevant construction-related degree, equivalent qualification or relevant experience
- Proven experience as CSA Construction Manager or similar senior role on large-scale construction projects
- Data centre experience highly desirable
- Strong track record managing and delivering CSA work packages
- Ability to maintain oversight of overall project while managing technical details
- Experience in project scheduling, programming, sequencing and producing look-ahead forecasts
- Demonstrated success leading and managing internal construction teams
- Experience delivering large-scale, fast-track, technically complex projects
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills
