Construction Manager — Role Overview

This Construction Manager role is critical to the successful delivery of a complex engineering project. You will manage site operations, project schedules, and subcontractor activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Construction Manager — Responsibilities

As Construction Manager, you will:

  • Manage the coordination of all CSA, MECH, and ELEC work packages.
  • Manage Site Safety and QA, including file management.
  • Manage the Project Schedule in conjunction with the Planner, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors and consulting Engineer/Architect.
  • Manage all costs associated with the Project, including labour, material, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
  • Manage all day-to-day site operations.
  • Directly manage the project team, aligning all discipline leads.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, tracking progress and manpower levels.
  • Manage the snagging system, ensuring supervisors return weekly punch lists.
  • Plan and manage General Operatives, Security, Telehandler drivers, traffic marshals, etc.
  • Manage overall site logistics.
  • Drive the culture of safety and quality throughout the project.
  • Review weekly progress reports, highlighting delays and shortages.
  • Attend Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Coordination Meetings, and Handover Meetings.
  • Close out all project items, including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, and Project Plan.
  • Issue Daily Reports and weekly safety stats & project labour projections.
  • Hold weekly commercial meetings to capture variations and costs.
  • Review drawings and setting out details.
  • Produce builders works drawings for services.
  • Carry out distribute & close out CSA snags.

Construction Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good strong working knowledge of CSA Construction processes.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a CSA Construction Manager/Supervisor.
  • A trade background or third-level education in a relevant engineering/construction field.
  • A proven track record in coordinating and managing large-scale projects.
  • Data Centre experience (advantageous).
