Commissioning Lead — Role Overview

This is a hands-on leadership position driving commissioning delivery across LV/MV/HV electrical systems and mechanical plant. You will direct vendor activities, manage programme milestones, and ensure quality compliance from factory acceptance through final witness testing.

Commissioning Lead — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Supervising all electrical and mechanical vendor commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with approved project documentation and work scope
• Monitoring and reporting on commissioning programme progress, communicating deadlines and milestones to internal teams and vendors
• Organising and leading daily and weekly commissioning meetings, providing structured input to drive vendor performance
• Forming and updating weekly vendor progress reports for submission to commissioning management
• Coordinating closely with Project QAQC and AP departments to align objectives and maintain quality standards
• Tracking, reviewing and obtaining approval on critical commissioning documentation including Test Scripts and Compliance Statements
• Witnessing vendor factory acceptance tests (FATs) and field witness tests (FWTs) where required
• Managing the commissioning tagging process and all day-to-day on-site commissioning operations
• Ensuring electrical testing and verification activities meet project standards and safety requirements

Commissioning Lead — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Electrical Trade with NVQ or equivalent training
• Minimum 7 years' experience in a commissioning or supervisory role within construction, with exposure to commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical or data centre projects
• Proven experience commissioning LV/MV or HV systems
• Minimum 3 years' electrical testing and verification experience
• Solid construction background with strong safety awareness
• Analytical problem-solver who acts decisively under pressure

Desirable:
• Process-driven approach with working knowledge of EHS and Quality Management Systems
