Buyer — Role Overview

This Buyer internship provides an opportunity to contribute to the efficient procurement of materials and services for ongoing construction projects. You will support the purchasing team in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships.

Buyer — Responsibilities

As a Buyer Intern, you will:

  • Manage the procurement-to-pay process, from sourcing to invoice clearance.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best value.
  • Conduct bid analysis and process purchase orders accurately.
  • Liaise with suppliers and the accounts payable team to resolve invoice queries.
  • Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities to track performance.
  • Maintain procurement schedules in collaboration with project teams and the planning function.
  • Track and expedite material deliveries using the Procurement Schedule Report (PSR).
  • Expedite subcontractor orders and ensure timely delivery of critical components.
  • Maintain clear communication between the supply chain and on-site teams.
  • Support buyers and the purchasing manager in improving procurement processes.

  • Results-driven with project management skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, and resilience.
  • A third level qualification, preferably in supply chain or a related discipline.
  • Some Technical Knowledge of the Construction Industry.
  • Previous ERP experience.
