Authorised Person (AP) – Electrical required for a major data centre construction project in Sandviken, Sweden. This is a critical safety leadership role managing HV/LV energisation and electrical safe systems of work for a Tier-1 international contractor.

Authorised Person (AP) - Electrical (1225) — Role Overview
You will serve as the key duty holder for electrical safety on site, establishing and enforcing the Electrical Safe System of Work (ESSoW) from early project stages through to final energisation. This position sits at the heart of safe delivery for complex MV/LV systems in a live construction environment.
Authorised Person (AP) - Electrical (1225) — Responsibilities
• Establish and implement the project Electrical Safe System of Work (ESSoW) under direction of the Lead Appointed Person
• Act as key duty holder for electrical safety, ensuring all personnel comply with HV/LV safety rules
• Issue, manage and control electrical permits to work for energised and high-risk activities
• Review project specifications, drawings, schematics, SLDs and technical documentation to extract safety and operational requirements
• Prepare RAMS, switching schedules, isolation procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and energisation plans
• Review switchgear distribution topology, protection schemes, interlocking and control philosophies prior to energisation
• Coordinate with specialist Testing & Commissioning contractors to develop commissioning strategies, sequences and test scripts
• Liaise with BMS, EPMS, SCADA and EMS vendors to ensure safe system configuration and controlled handover
• Support and manage safe start-up and energisation of MV/LV systems
• Witness SAT, pre-energisation and post-energisation testing, ensuring full documentation compliance
• Complete tagging, system walkdowns and verification activities with formal stakeholder sign-off
• Verify calibration and suitability of all test instruments on site
• Provide technical input into switching plans, isolation procedures and system energisation strategies
• Coordinate partial system energisation in live environments with construction and commissioning teams
• Promote electrical safety culture across site as a role model for best practice
Authorised Person (AP) - Electrical (1225) — Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Degree in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering OR Electrical Trade qualification with substantial relevant experience
- Formal Authorised Person (AP) certification (HV/LV) from a recognised training provider
- Demonstrable experience operating under an Electrical Safety Rules system (LV/MV/HV)
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in AP / Electrical Safety / Energisation role
- Proven experience on mission-critical projects: Data Centres, Pharma, Industrial or Critical Infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with MV/LV systems, energisation, switching, isolation and live system management
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Electrical Testing & Verification
- Experience working within live environments and managing partial energisation
- Strong understanding of electrical protection principles, earthing systems and switchgear systems
- Experience reviewing FAT/SAT documentation for LV/MV switchgear
- Knowledge of control systems: BMS, EPMS, SCADA, EMS
- Ability to produce and execute LV/MV switching plans and interpret SLDs, schematics, cable schedules
Desirable
- Experience coordinating with specialist commissioning contractors
- Understanding of switchgear forms of separation and type testing requirements
