Senior Quantity Surveyor — Role Overview
This is a hands-on senior commercial position managing multiple subcontract packages from procurement through final account. You will drive financial performance, lead supply chain engagement, and mentor junior commercial staff while reporting directly to senior project leadership.
Senior Quantity Surveyor — Responsibilities
• Procure and manage multiple subcontract packages from ITT generation through final account agreement
• Generate quantified work packages, budgets and tender documentation from technical drawings
• Analyse tender returns, negotiate variations and agree final accounts with subcontractors and clients
• Monitor costs, cash flow and financial entitlement across all packages under your control
• Submit contractually compliant valuations, monthly payments and commercial documentation
• Lead weekly cross-functional meetings with safety, planning, commercial and quality departments
• Develop and maintain supply chain screening and onboarding programmes
• Track supply chain capacity, capabilities and performance across multiple projects
• Report on project cost, safety, quality, schedule and sustainability performance against client KPIs
• Analyse critical milestone data and lead client meetings on project performance
• Supervise and develop junior commercial team members
• Proactively resolve commercial conflicts and identify cost-down initiatives
Senior Quantity Surveyor — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Relevant degree with 7+ years' quantity surveying experience in construction
• Strong technical understanding of building construction and processes
• Familiarity with various methods of measurement
• Excellent budgeting, financial forecasting and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
Desirable:
• Experience with Buildsoft, CostX or similar estimating software
• Data Centre construction experience
• Previous exposure to client-driven KPI reporting and supply chain management
