Senior Project Manager — Role Overview

As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction projects. You will oversee all aspects of site operations, subcontractor management, and project closeout, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

Senior Project Manager — Responsibilities

As Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Manage site safety in conjunction with the project team and Safety Advisor, including safety file management.
  • Manage site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager, including file management.
  • Manage the project schedule in conjunction with the project team, consulting engineer, and client requirements.
  • Manage all project costs, including labour, material, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
  • Manage all day-to-day site operations.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, tracking progress and manpower levels, and conduct weekly meetings.
  • Manage the snagging system, ensuring supervisors return weekly punch lists.
  • Issue direct labour and subcontractor hours to the time administrator.
  • Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning meetings, and handover meetings.
  • Close out all project items, including final account, O&M manuals, punch list, safety file, QA file, material and plant relocations, and project plan.
  • Upload weekly progress reports to the project Filekey system, highlighting progress and risks.
  • Issue external weekly progress reports to all stakeholders, highlighting delays and shortages.
  • Ensure all subcontractor documentation is maintained and filed.
  • Issue weekly safety stats and project labour projections.
  • Hold weekly commercial meetings to capture variations and costs.
  • Develop and implement company procedures with package managers.
  • Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme).

Senior Project Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 9 years’ work experience in a similar role.
  • Strong PC literacy with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to liaise with various support functions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Pride in the quality and presentation of work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
