Senior Planner — Role Overview
This is a hands-on leadership role driving programme development and project controls for live data centre projects. You will own the planning function from bid stage through to commissioning, while mentoring a team of engineers and representing the contractor at client level.
Senior Planner — Responsibilities
• Develop comprehensive bid programmes to support winning tender submissions
• Create, maintain and review detailed master construction programmes and project controls procedures for live data centre projects
• Prepare and present progress reviews to senior management and external stakeholders
• Lead, mentor and motivate a team of planning engineers
• Manage key client accounts and build long-term partnerships
• Drive business development activities with new clients
• Take complete responsibility for project planning delivery, supporting colleagues on complex schemes as required
• Liaise with stakeholders to review progress, identify risks and drive proactive problem-solving
• Create and sustain schedules across pre-construction, construction and commissioning phases
• Represent the planning function in client and subcontractor meetings
Senior Planner — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in construction, preferably with main contractor background
• Proficient in programming software: Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6 preferred
• Proven experience with BIM integration in planning workflows
• Demonstrable experience in large-scale project environments
