Senior Planner — Role Overview
As Senior Planner, you will be responsible for all aspects of project planning, from pre-construction to commissioning. Your expertise will ensure accurate schedules, effective progress monitoring, and proactive issue resolution.
Senior Planner — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining schedules for pre-construction, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Creating and managing progress databases and generating progress reports.
- Performing milestone projections, delay/float path analysis, and implementing Earned Value Management systems.
- Monitoring schedule performance, productivity, and auditing progress on site.
- Attending schedule meetings and liaising with clients and subcontractors.
- Preparing tender schedules and histograms.
- Supporting weekly workface planning systems and resource/cash loading of schedules.
- Providing data for payment applications and completing contract review reports.
- Identifying and communicating potential issues, advising on solutions, and recording delays/disruptions.
- Assisting in the preparation of claims and providing data for contractual disputes.
- Managing, training, and coaching planning staff (if required).
Senior Planner — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in planning on large-scale construction projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Earned Value Management, and Excel.
- A clear understanding of construction methodologies and sequence.
- The ability to produce programmes to plan and monitor works from drawings/models/SOWs.
- The capability to manage the planning of large-scale projects with minimal supervision.
- A highly motivated, self-starting attitude with the ability to work well independently and in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively within strict deadlines.
