Senior Mechanical Design Engineer — Role Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a key member of the project team, reporting to the Mechanical Design Manager. You will manage design packages from initial review through to handover, ensuring compliance and contributing to the delivery of high-value projects for major data centre clients.
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer — Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with engineers and construction managers to develop project plans.
- Liaise with clients and third parties as required.
- Develop scope-of-works, task information deliverables lists, and responsibility matrices for mechanical disciplines.
- Identify and mitigate design-related risks, escalating to management as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of key design activities.
- Attend design meetings and provide input for optimisation.
- Manage the deliverables and approvals processes of design packages.
- Conduct site visits and report on progress and quality of work.
- Ensure mechanical technical compliance on all projects.
- Prepare handover packs for the site team.
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Data Centre sectors.
- In depth knowledge of Statutory Consent Processes, Building Regulations process.
- Demonstrable design, technical and construction knowledge.
- Experience in leading meetings and coordinating team members.
- Strong working knowledge of structural design and analysis software such as BIM, Revit.
