This Senior EHS Advisor role is crucial for ensuring safety compliance and promoting a safe working environment on construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing EHS policies, conducting site inspections, and coordinating safety training.
Senior EHS Advisor — Responsibilities
As a Senior EHS Advisor, you will:
- Ensure project compliance with the project and Leading Engineering Firm's safety management system.
- Adhere to all relevant environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations.
- Comply with Leading Engineering Firm's and PSCS's environmental, health, and safety plans.
- Coordinate the development of task-specific method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permits to work.
- Ensure compliance with the project execution plan.
- Coordinate project safety indicators.
- Maintain and manage good safety practices.
- Conduct continuous COSHH assessments and control hazardous substances.
- Ensure safety measures are implemented and recorded.
- Perform regular site safety inspections and audits, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain records of statutory inspections for project operations, tools, and plants.
- Take a proactive approach to project environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Provide safety feedback to site management and site EHS forums.
- Ensure project subcontractors comply with project and group environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate, manage, and maintain Leading Engineering Firm's inductions and training.
- Ensure project PPE is resourced and available.
- Compile and deliver Toolbox talks as required.
- Assist in or conduct accident investigation reports in a timely manner and ensure communication with Leading Engineering Firm's project management.
- Ensure welfare and hygiene facilities are in place, managed, and maintained.
- Liaise with site project management on environmental, health, and safety issues.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation in the safety file.
- Maintain waste reduction and recycling programs in accordance with project policies and procedures.
Senior EHS Advisor — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
- 3+ years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management on large construction sites.
- In-depth knowledge of current environmental, health, and safety legislation.
- Flexibility in working methods as required.
- The ability to effectively manage all environmental, health, and safety issues on site.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- The ability to work independently and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A keen attention to detail.
- Good teamwork skills.
