Senior Construction Manager — Role Overview
As Senior Construction Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing various work packages on site, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and safety standards. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of the project, working closely with subcontractors, engineers, and the project team.
Senior Construction Manager — Responsibilities
As Senior Construction Manager, you will:
- Manage the coordination of Civil, Structural and Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical and Life Safety work packages.
- Manage Site Safety in conjunction with the Safety Advisor, including file setup, management, and closeout.
- Manage Site QA in conjunction with the Project Manager and team, including file setup, management, and closeout.
- Manage the Project Schedule in conjunction with the Planner, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors, and consulting Engineer/Architect to requirements.
- Facilitate adherence to the schedule through DABs meetings and on-site actions.
- Manage costs associated with Project Logistics, including labour, material, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
- Control all day-to-day site operations within schedule.
- Manage sub-contractor activities, tracking progress against schedule and ensuring adequate manpower levels.
- Ensure Sub-Contractor meetings are completed and recorded (White Board, DABS, Weekly Progress/Construction meeting, Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety).
- Close out project items, including Punch List, Safety File, QA File, and Material and Plant re-locations.
Senior Construction Manager — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Engineering Degree or recognised trade qualification
- 10+ years’ experience of managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
- Thorough knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural packages.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical installations and interfaces.
- Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
- Ability to efficiently manage a team by setting expectations, delegation, and review.
- Strong communication & computer skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Close attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Good team-working skills
- Pride in the quality and presentation of work.
