Senior Buyer — Role Overview
As a Senior Buyer, you will manage the procurement of materials, goods, and services for assigned projects, optimizing cost, quality, and service. You'll contribute to value engineering, innovation delivery, and risk management, ensuring best-in-class performance through efficient buying processes.
Senior Buyer — Responsibilities
As a Senior Buyer, you will:
- Manage the procure-to-pay process from sourcing to invoice clearance.
- Conduct complex bid processes for equipment, materials, and services, performing commercial evaluations.
- Create procurement schedules with project teams and the planning function.
- Write Procurement Project Execution Plans.
- Develop procurement strategies for core commodities.
- Work full-time on site in Frankfurt, collaborating closely with site commercial and construction teams.
- Secure the quality and timely delivery of goods and services required for assigned projects.
- Ensure materials and services are procured on time and within budget.
- Assist in the reallocation or disposal of excess materials.
- Create internal reports.
- Identify new supplier sources and recommend new sourcing strategies.
- Coordinate the logistics of goods and services required for assigned projects.
- Assist in proposals support when required.
Senior Buyer — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Construction buying experience.
- Experience in a similar role within an engineering or construction company.
- A third-level qualification, preferably in supply chain or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- A minimum of 6 years’ work experience in a similar role.
- The ability to prioritize workload efficiently.
- Results-driven project management skills.
- Previous ERP experience, SAP preferred.
- The ability to travel as required.
- Professionalism, flexibility, and resilience.
Desirable:
- A third-level qualification, preferably in supply chain, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Some technical knowledge of the construction industry.
- Experience purchasing capital equipment in the data centre industry.
- German speaking ability.
