Senior Authorised Person (Electrical) — Role Overview

As the lead electrical authority, you will be accountable for the implementation and management of electrical safety rules across a portfolio of data centres. Your expertise will ensure a safe system of work is consistently adhered to.

Senior Authorised Person (Electrical) — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Implementing, administering, monitoring, and auditing the application of electrical safety rules.
  • Providing necessary cover for all systems and installations where the company controls electrical dangers.
  • Supervising and leading switching operations on HV/LV systems.
  • Maintaining a register of training records and relevant authorisation information.
  • Ensuring relevant information is circulated on Operational Restrictions and Dangerous Occurrences.
  • Investigating Dangerous Occurrences and incidents involving electrical equipment.
  • Managing a system to ensure all switching schedules are reviewed and approved.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and operation of Technical Services Electrical engineering.
  • Attending site meetings, project reviews, and handover meetings.
  • Driving the culture of safety and quality throughout the project.

Senior Authorised Person (Electrical) — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A trade background with 10-15 years' experience managing large installation projects and subcontractors.
  • A proven record of supervising and managing large installation projects.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering HV/MV Infrastructure projects, DC / DNO / IDNO / Power Generation.
  • Experience managing work and safety precautions across control boundaries.
  • Experience performing / supervising advanced cable works including phasing, testing, identifying & spiking.
  • In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Quality compliance.
  • Experience in design and build.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical systems.
  • Excellent IT and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within strict deadlines and drive a large-scale project.
