Senior Authorised Person — Role Overview
This Senior Authorised Person role is the lead electrical position on site. You will be accountable for managing and implementing electrical safety rules across multiple data centre projects, ensuring a safe system of work is consistently adhered to.
Senior Authorised Person — Responsibilities
As Senior Authorised Person, you will:
- Manage live or potentially live electrical systems under your control.
- Manage, audit, and enforce control of hazardous energies procedures, including operational control of lock out tag out systems.
- Identify electrical hazards and implement necessary mitigation measures.
- Manage, audit, employ, and enforce adherence to the Electrical Safety Permit System, including access control.
- Plan and execute safe electrical energisations, isolations, and switching, including approval of requests and switching plans.
- Ensure periodic inspection and auditing is completed as required.
- Review and approve electrical safety related risk assessments and method statements.
- Assist in electrical incident investigations and ensure proper notification of incidents.
Senior Authorised Person — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A National Craft Certificate as a qualified electrician (or equivalent) verified by Naric.
- An electrical award equivalent to Level 6 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications.
- Completion of jurisdictional training in Verification, Testing and Certification, and a recognised switching course at HV/MV and LV within the last two years.
- Competency in pre- and post-connection electrical testing and live dead live testing.
- A demonstrated history of delivering HV/MV Infrastructure projects, DC / DNO / IDNO / Power Generation projects.
- 10-15 years' experience managing large installation projects and sub-contractors.
- In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality compliance.
- Excellent technical knowledge of Electrical systems, IT skills, and communication skills.
