Project Lead — Role Overview
This role places you at the helm of a major data centre construction project, accountable for cost, schedule, quality, and safety from inception through final handover. You will orchestrate complex stakeholder ecosystems—subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and client representatives—while driving commercial outcomes in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Project Lead — Responsibilities
• Direct overall project cost, schedule, and budget management from inception through to successful handover
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure seamless execution across all workstreams
• Analyse, track, and manage critical milestones to prevent delays and maintain programme integrity
• Review and evaluate construction proposals, pricing, and scopes of work for technical and commercial fit
• Chair client meetings and project coordination forums, driving alignment and proactive issue resolution
• Monitor construction cost drivers and prepare data-driven insights with actionable recommendations
• Apply deep knowledge of construction procurement methods and manage long-lead equipment delivery schedules
• Review, validate, and audit subcontractor cost estimates to protect project margins
• Support engineering and design decisions during design-build changes, ensuring cost and budget alignment
• Track and verify equipment availability against project schedules
• Oversee scheduling consultant reviews and ensure full integration with project controls systems
• Review and approve invoices, payment applications, and retention releases
• Manage client handover process, including close-out documentation, warranties, and final deliverables
Project Lead — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Minimum 10 years' experience in project leadership roles on major construction or infrastructure projects
• Proven track record leading teams, managing subcontractors, and coordinating multidisciplinary activities
• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated expertise in project financial management and cost control
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and relevant project management tools
• Exceptional organisational, communication, and time management capabilities
• Ability to perform under pressure to demanding schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards
Desirable:
• Data centre or mission-critical facility construction experience
• Design-build or EPC contract exposure
• Finnish or Scandinavian construction market knowledge
