Planning Manager — Role Overview

As a Planning Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of planning within an assigned portfolio of projects. This includes advising management teams, managing planning staff, and ensuring appropriate planning systems are in place.

Planning Manager — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:
• Reporting to the Divisional Planning Manager and Divisional Operations Team.
• Serving as a member of the Planning Department Management Team.
• Advising and supporting Divisional & SBU Management teams on planning matters.
• Managing all aspects of planning within an assigned portfolio of projects.
• Assessing and reporting on schedule risk levels.
• Hiring, managing, training, coaching, supporting, developing, and leading Planning staff.
• Promoting Schedule Literacy and providing training on planning-related topics.
• Implementing Planning SOPs and ensuring appropriate planning & progress systems are in place.
• Troubleshooting planning-related issues and supporting bids and tenders.
• Assisting in the preparation of claims and advising on best practices.

Planning Manager — Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in planning on large-scale construction projects.
• Proficient using Primavera P6, Earned Value Management, and Excel.
• Clear understanding of construction methodologies and sequence.
• Able to produce programmes to plan and monitor works from drawings/models/SOW etc.
• Capable of managing the planning of large-scale projects with minimum supervision.
• Highly motivated, a self-starter, and able to work well in a team or independently.
• Clear communicator with the ability to work well within strict deadlines.
