Planner — Role Overview

This is a hands-on planning role at the heart of two concurrent hyperscale data centre builds. You will own programme development from bid stage through commissioning, serving as the planning lead in client and subcontractor forums.

Planner — Responsibilities

• Develop bid programmes to support tender submissions and secure new work
• Create, maintain and review detailed master construction programmes and project controls procedures for live projects
• Build and sustain schedules covering pre-construction, construction and commissioning phases with up-to-date progress reporting
• Establish project schedule resource requirements and communicate tools for target completion of project goals
• Prepare and present progress reviews to senior management, identifying variances and driving corrective action
• Serve as Planning representative in client and subcontractor meetings
• Liaise with stakeholders to review project progress, supporting risk identification and proactive problem solving
• Provide performance updates and reports to enable variance analysis and corrective action
• Support account management of existing clients and contribute to business development with new clients

Planner — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• 4+ years relevant experience in construction, preferably with main contractor background
• Substantial experience across engineering projects, ideally data centres, with understanding of commercial and contractual matters
• Proficient in Primavera P6; working knowledge of Asta Powerproject preferred
• Understanding of programming techniques and typical production rates
• Appreciation of BIM/digital construction tools and workflows
• Clear ability for logical thinking and working in an ordered fashion
• Strong communication skills and ability to work to challenging timescales
