Mechanical Supervisor — Role Overview

As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site mechanical operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will play a crucial role in coordinating with subcontractors, managing costs, and maintaining quality assurance.

Mechanical Supervisor — Responsibilities

As Mechanical Supervisor, you will:

  • Manage site safety in conjunction with the Safety Advisor, including safety file management.
  • Manage site QA with the Mechanical Package Manager, including file management.
  • Manage the project schedule in coordination with other trades, Package Leads, consulting engineers, and client requirements.
  • Assist with cost management, including the Our Client mechanical team, subcontractors, material deliveries, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
  • Manage all day-to-day on-site mechanical operations.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, tracking progress and manpower levels, and holding weekly meetings.
  • Manage the "In Progress" snagging system and issue weekly punch lists.
  • Issue direct labor and subcontractor hours to the time administrator.
  • Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning meetings, and handover meetings.
  • Close out project items, including O&M manuals, punch lists, safety files, and QA files, with support from the Mechanical Package Manager.
  • Implement a weekly look ahead to ensure coordination with other trades.
  • Issue internal weekly progress reports, highlighting progress, concerns, and risks.
  • Schedule and track material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule.
  • Maintain a weekly project diary, highlighting issues and escalating where necessary.

Mechanical Supervisor — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree (BEng) or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in HVAC, with at least 70 ECTS credits in HVAC studies.
  • Sufficient experience in supervisory positions in the relevant field (Plumbing and HVAC installations).
  • Sufficient experience in the construction industry (Plumbing and HVAC installation).
  • Good computer skills in Word, Excel, etc.
  • Fluent English.
  • A trade background.
  • Proven record of coordinating and managing large projects.
  • A minimum of 6 years in this role.
