Mechanical Supervisor — Role Overview
As Mechanical Supervisor, you will ensure compliance with Finnish regulations and manage site safety and quality assurance. You will contribute to the successful delivery of a complex construction project, coordinating with various trades and stakeholders.
Mechanical Supervisor — Responsibilities
As Mechanical Supervisor, you will:
- Ensure on-site works comply with Finnish statutory regulations and laws, maintaining all necessary records.
- Manage site safety in conjunction with the Safety Advisor, including setting up, managing, and closing out the safety file.
- Manage site QA in conjunction with the Mechanical Package Manager, including file setup, management, and closeout.
- Manage the project schedule in conjunction with other trades, package leads, consulting engineers, and client requirements.
- Assist in managing all costs associated with your package, including the mechanical team, subcontractors, material deliveries, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
- Manage day-to-day on-site operations.
- Manage subcontractor activities, tracking progress against the schedule and manpower levels, and ensuring weekly meetings.
- Manage the "In Progress" snagging system, returning weekly punch lists.
- Issue direct labor and subcontractor hours to the time administrator.
- Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover meetings.
- Close out all project items, including O&M manuals, punch lists, safety files, and QA files, with support from the Mechanical Package Manager.
- Implement a weekly look-ahead to ensure coordination with other trades.
- Issue internal weekly progress reports, highlighting progress percentage complete and any concerns.
- Schedule and track material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule.
- Maintain a weekly project photographic diary.
Mechanical Supervisor — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Sufficient experience in the construction industry, specifically with HVAC installation, considering the quality and complexity of the construction project.
- Sufficient experience and expertise in supervisory positions in the relevant field (HVAC installations).
- Good proficiency in demanding supervisory tasks related to HVAC installations.
- A BEng (or equivalent) specialized in HVAC, or a Master of Engineering with at least 70 ECTS credits in HVAC studies.
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Fluent English.
- A proven record of coordinating and managing large projects.
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience.
