Mechanical Project Manager — Role Overview

This pivotal role places you at the helm of mechanical project delivery, overseeing the full scope from design coordination through to final handover. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive productivity across site operations, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and commercial performance are achieved.

Mechanical Project Manager — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Managing and overseeing all mechanical scope of works, ensuring delivery to specification, schedule, and budget
• Analysing, tracking, and managing critical milestones to prevent schedule delays
• Reviewing construction proposals, including detailed scope and cost assessments
• Leading and mentoring project teams comprising engineers, package managers, supervisors, and foremen
• Engaging directly with clients and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and goal alignment
• Liaising with design teams and subcontractors to maintain scope, budget, and timeline control
• Driving productivity through effective weekly and daily work planning
• Coordinating day-to-day site operations alongside package managers
• Overseeing subcontractor performance, tracking progress against schedule and manpower requirements
• Coordinating activities in shared work areas to ensure safe, efficient progress
• Preparing comprehensive weekly reports including incident reports, schedule updates, 12-week lookaheads, industrial relations issues, procurement forecasts, variation logs, and risk notifications
• Conducting weekly commercial meetings to capture variations and update client costs
• Promoting and managing site safety in collaboration with the Mechanical Package Manager and Safety Advisor
• Driving QHSE culture and implementing company procedures
• Managing change control processes for cost and programme impacts

Mechanical Project Manager — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• Minimum 10 years' experience managing large-scale Mechanical projects (commercial offices, retail, hotels, schools, or data centres)
• Proven track record in Mechanical Project Management with demonstrated ability to control scope, schedule, and budget
• Experience coordinating and managing large installation projects in complex mechanical environments
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical design and build systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, piping, and associated mechanical services
• Trade or Engineering qualification preferred
• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
• Ability to drive progress and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams

Desirable:
• Data centre project experience
• Recent experience managing major electrical contracts
