Mechanical Package Manager — Role Overview

As Mechanical Package Manager, you will oversee site safety, QA, and project schedules, ensuring seamless coordination between teams and adherence to client requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in managing costs, subcontractors, and project documentation from start to finish.

Mechanical Package Manager — Responsibilities

As Mechanical Package Manager, you will:

  • Manage site safety in conjunction with the project team and safety advisor, including setting up, managing, and closing out the safety file.
  • Oversee site QA, specifically for the mechanical package, including setup, management, and closeout of the file.
  • Manage the project schedule in conjunction with the project team, consulting engineer, and client requirements.
  • Manage all costs associated with the project, including labor, material, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
  • Manage all day-to-day site operations.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels; ensure weekly meetings with subcontractors.
  • Manage the "In Progress" snagging system, ensuring supervisors return weekly punch lists where applicable.
  • Issue direct labor hours and subcontractor hours to the time administrator for central tracking.
  • Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover meetings.
  • Close out all project items, including final account, O&M manuals, punch list, safety file, QA file, material and plant relocations, and the project plan.

Mechanical Package Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An engineering qualification or relevant work experience
  • Good computer skills in Word, Excel, etc.
  • Fluent English
  • Flexibility to travel
  • A trade background
  • A proven record of coordinating and managing large projects
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervision role
