Mechanical Lead — Role Overview

This is a hands-on leadership position driving mechanical engineering delivery on major data centre construction. You will direct design optimisation, site quality control, and team performance while coordinating across disciplines to ensure programme and commercial targets are met.

Mechanical Lead — Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and direct a team of Mechanical Engineers through all project phases
• Propose and implement design changes to improve cost efficiency, construction sequencing, and final specification quality
• Monitor on-site construction quality for workmanship and materials against specifications
• Coordinate with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers and discipline leads to ensure timely, accurate information flow to subcontractors and site personnel
• Review and verify drawings and specifications; formally communicate errors or omissions to design teams without delay
• Establish and manage project resource requirements to meet programme demands
• Champion health and safety standards across all mechanical activities
• Demonstrate commercial awareness in all engineering decisions and change management

Mechanical Lead — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline
• Proven experience leading MEP teams effectively on complex projects
• Direct experience delivering Data Centre MEP projects
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management
• Demonstrated capability in scheduling, programming, and construction sequencing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for multi-stakeholder coordination
