Mechanical Engineer — Role Overview

This Mechanical Engineer role is crucial for supporting the engineering requirements of significant construction projects. You will manage mechanical systems, liaise with key stakeholders, and ensure compliance with project specifications.

Mechanical Engineer — Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Manage mechanical systems, subcontractors, material deliveries, and plant & equipment.
  • Support engineering requirements by liaising with project stakeholders.
  • Oversee the coordination process to transform design information into installation drawings.
  • Manage site safety and QA in conjunction with the Project Manager and QA Manager.
  • Manage project schedules and ensure engineering activities do not impact procurement.
  • Manage all aspects associated with your assigned project package.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations and subcontractor activities.
  • Ensure works are installed according to project specifications and QA plan.
  • Prepare sub-contract and supplier tender packages.
  • Evaluate and promote the use of new engineering practices and processes.

Mechanical Engineer — Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • 5+ years’ experience working with a recognised Mechanical/Electrical contractor
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in use of systems software related to Engineering functions
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Familiar with Project /Primavera planning software and CAD/BIM process
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise

Desirable:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Knowledge of modularisation
