Mechanical Engineer — Role Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth execution of mechanical works on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines. Your expertise will contribute to the successful delivery of complex data centre projects.

Mechanical Engineer — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and assigning work schedules to the mechanical team and subcontractors.
  • Planning and scheduling daily work.
  • Supervising and motivating team members.
  • Ensuring proper handling of mechanical materials and equipment during the installation stages.
  • Maintaining safety standards and adhering to mechanical codes and permits to work.
  • Supervising the installation of all mechanical equipment, such as chillers, AHUs, and pumps.
  • Controlling and tracking scope changes, engineering changes, and technical queries.
  • Reviewing work procedures and suggesting improvement measures.
  • Coordinating with different contractors to manage interferences and daily follow-up.
  • Coordinating with on-site personnel (civil, electrical) to ensure proper workflow.
  • Supervising on-site mechanical operations and reporting major issues to senior management.

Mechanical Engineer — Ideal Candidate

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Data Centre experience required.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in use of systems software related to Engineering functions.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
