Mechanical Construction Manager — Role Overview

You will lead mechanical construction operations from handover through to final account, managing all aspects of HVAC delivery, subcontractor coordination, and commercial control on high-value data centre builds. This position sits at the intersection of technical execution and project management, offering hands-on responsibility for programme-critical mechanical installations.

Mechanical Construction Manager — Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical construction activities across HVAC, pipework, and building services installations, ensuring alignment with programme milestones and quality standards
• Prepare and implement method statements and risk assessments for all mechanical works, maintaining full HSEQ compliance
• Manage commercial performance from handover through technical procurement, subcontractor appointment, and monthly valuations
• Coordinate two-week look-ahead programmes with project teams, planning and mobilising labour resources to meet demanding schedules
• Oversee subcontractor activities on site, enforcing workmanship standards and safe material handling
• Document and cost scope changes, contributing to variation notifications, delay claims, and final account preparation
• Verify plant and materials against specifications, ensuring secure storage and coordinated installation
• Maintain direct client and stakeholder relationships as the site-based mechanical lead

Mechanical Construction Manager — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Proven experience as Mechanical Construction Manager or similar role within M&E contracting
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work fronts in fast-paced, deadline-driven site environments
• Strong organisational, communication, and time management capabilities

• Data centre construction experience
• Commercial awareness including valuations, procurement, and final account processes
