Mechanical Construction Manager — Role Overview
You will drive the mechanical construction phase from procurement through to handover, managing commercial performance, safety compliance, and programme delivery for large-scale HVAC installations. This position offers genuine autonomy and direct impact on project outcomes.
Mechanical Construction Manager — Responsibilities
• Manage all client communications and stakeholder relationships throughout the construction phase
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and complete all HVAC deliverables to project and safety criteria
• Sequence pipework installation with the project team to achieve scheduled dates
• Validate project commercial position from estimating handover through to full technical procurement of equipment, specialist sub-contractors and suppliers
• Document and cost changes to work scope, prepare monthly valuations and final account
• Maintain two-week look-ahead project schedule in conjunction with the project team
• Ensure labour resources meet programme requirements and are maintained accordingly
• Drive site health & safety compliance and ensure all sub-contractors operate safely
• Review and implement improved ways of working to enhance site safety
• Enforce high housekeeping standards across all sub-contractor activities
Mechanical Construction Manager — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
• Relevant mechanical qualification (B.Eng Degree, City & Guilds Certificate, HNC/BTEC or NVQ)
• Proven experience managing mechanical construction projects with full commercial accountability
• Demonstrable expertise in HVAC systems and pipework installation sequencing
• Strong organisational, communication and time management capabilities
Desirable:
• Previous experience within a Mechanical and Electrical contracting environment
• Data centre construction experience
• Familiarity with Finnish construction regulations or EU data centre standards
