Logistics Manager — Role Overview

You will own all site logistics operations for a complex data centre build, managing material flows, subcontractor coordination, and compound efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership position where your decisions directly impact programme delivery and site safety.

Logistics Manager — Responsibilities

• Manage the site compound and all designated storage areas to maximise efficiency and safety
• Oversee booking and coordination of all material deliveries to and from site via the Datascope system
• Coordinate with subcontractors on delivery schedules, storage locations, and access routes
• Attend pre-start meetings to communicate logistics procedures, storage limitations, and booking requirements
• Monitor and control traffic movement across site, ensuring safe vehicle flow
• Promote just-in-time delivery approaches to reduce congestion and optimise operations
• Ensure all loading and unloading occurs within designated compounds
• Lead and supervise logistics operatives, enforcing safety standards and work ethics
• Maintain accurate records of labour allocation, delivery tracking, and progress reporting

Logistics Manager — Ideal Candidate

Essential:
• 2+ years' experience in logistics or materials management on large-scale construction projects
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams of operatives and subcontractors
• In-depth practical knowledge of load management, storage allocation, and on-site materials handling
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with strong planning and prioritisation abilities
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards

Desirable:
• Third-level qualification in engineering or construction-related discipline
• Experience with Datascope or similar logistics and delivery management systems
• Trades background with 3+ years' relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualification
