Junior Project Manager — Role Overview

As Junior Project Manager, you will support the Senior Project Manager in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. A key focus will be on production control, ensuring project execution aligns with schedules, resource plans, and quality standards.

Junior Project Manager — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, including milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitoring progress against baseline plans and identifying variances.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure adequate resourcing and timely execution.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly progress reports tracking % completion, schedule performance, and cost variances.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive register of all active projects and their status.
  • Ensuring all works comply with health and safety standards and permitting requirements.
  • Verifying subcontractor compliance with approved processes and production plans.
  • Assisting in managing project budgets and validating subcontractor invoicing against progress.
  • Supporting procurement and vendor management activities.
  • Identifying bottlenecks in production workflows and proposing corrective actions.

Junior Project Manager — Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Degree or certification in Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in project coordination or production control within construction or engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and reporting techniques.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Control Measures.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Understanding and/or experience of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data centre or similar environment.
  • Understanding all the associated safety code related requirements.
  • Experience in vendor management.
