As an ICT Project Supervisor, you will be the primary point of contact for onsite telecoms queries, overseeing the installation of fibre and copper structured cabling. Your role is crucial in ensuring projects adhere to specifications and industry standards, contributing to the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.
ICT Project Supervisors - Structured Cabling — Responsibilities
As an ICT Project Supervisor, you will:
- Act as the first point of contact for onsite telecoms queries.
- Ensure all project First of Kinds are completed in a timely manner.
- Supervise the onsite telecoms installation team, including interaction with subcontractors.
- Oversee the onsite fibre and copper structured cabling installation, including fibre splicing/patching/testing, copper termination/testing, installation of network racks, and installation of fibre management systems.
- Ensure compliance with project drawings, cable schedules, project-specific specifications, and industry standards.
- Interact with other trades (electrical, mechanical, etc.) onsite.
- Manage onsite safety in conjunction with the project team and the Safety Advisor, including daily inspections of high-risk activities and SPAs, and ensuring adherence to RAMs/CMOPs.
- Attend onsite project meetings (toolbox talks, whiteboard meetings, daily activity briefings, etc.).
- Manage onsite QA in conjunction with the QA Manager, including daily quality inspections, generating punch lists, and closing out punch lists.
- Ensure project progress aligns with the project fit-out schedule.
- Provide regular updates and escalate any delays or design conflicts.
- Liaise daily with the Project Manager on project progress, risks, and conflicts.
- Generate weekly progress reports and issue them to the planning team.
- Ensure familiarity with the project Bill of Materials and ensure efficient onsite management of project materials.
- Liaise closely with the commissioning team to ensure all project test results are reviewed and issued to the client on time.
- Liaise closely with the BIM team to ensure all project as-built drawings are reviewed and issued to the client on time.
- Compile project O&M manuals.
ICT Project Supervisors - Structured Cabling — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
- Good technical knowledge of copper and fibre structured cabling
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and cable schedules
- Good computer skills - Windows, MS Office
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well within a team
Desirable:
- Vendor certification (Panduit / Corning / AFL / Commscope etc.)
- Telecoms Industry Certification
