This ICT Project Supervisor role is crucial to ensuring the successful installation and management of structured cabling systems on complex construction projects. You will be the primary point of contact for onsite telecoms queries and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
ICT Project Supervisors - Structured Cabling — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Acting as the first point of contact for onsite telecoms queries.
- Ensuring timely completion of all project First of Kinds.
- Supervising the onsite telecoms installation team and interacting with subcontractors.
- Overseeing the onsite fibre and copper structured cabling installation, including fibre splicing/patching/testing, copper termination/testing, installation of network racks, and fibre management systems.
- Ensuring compliance with project drawings, cable schedules, project-specific specifications, and industry standards.
- Interacting with other trades (electrical, mechanical, etc.) onsite.
- Managing onsite safety in conjunction with the project team, including daily inspections and adherence to RAMs/CMOPs.
- Attending onsite project meetings (toolbox talks, whiteboard meetings, daily activity briefings, etc.).
- Managing onsite QA, including daily quality inspections and punch list management.
- Providing regular project updates and escalating any delays or design conflicts.
- Generating weekly progress reports for the planning team.
- Ensuring efficient onsite management of project materials.
- Liaising with the commissioning team to ensure timely review and issuance of test results.
- Liaising with the BIM team to ensure timely review and issuance of as-built drawings.
- Compiling project O&M manuals.
ICT Project Supervisors - Structured Cabling — Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Good technical knowledge of copper and fibre structured cabling
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and cable schedules
- Good computer skills (Windows, MS Office)
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- Vendor certification (Panduit / Corning / AFL / Commscope etc.)
- Telecoms Industry Certification
