Fire Protection Mechanical Supervisor — Role Overview
This role is crucial for managing the mechanical aspects of fire protection systems on site. The successful candidate will ensure smooth operations, quality assurance, and safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Fire Protection Mechanical Supervisor — Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Managing the mechanical team, sub-contractors, material deliveries, plant and equipment.
- Managing site safety in conjunction with the Safety Advisor, including safety file setup and closeout.
- Managing site QA in conjunction with the Mechanical Package Manager, including file setup and closeout.
- Managing the project schedule in conjunction with other trades, package leads, consulting engineer, and client requirements.
- Assisting with the management of all costs associated with the package.
- Managing all day-to-day on-site operations.
- Managing sub-contractor activities, tracking progress and manpower levels.
- Managing the snagging system and issuing weekly punch lists.
- Issuing direct labor and sub-contractor hours to the time administrator.
- Attending site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and co-ordination meetings, and handover meetings.
- Closing out all project items including O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, with support from the Mechanical package manager.
- Implementing a weekly look ahead, ensuring co-ordination with other trades.
- Issuing internal weekly progress reports, highlighting progress and any concerns.
- Scheduling and tracking material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule.
Fire Protection Mechanical Supervisor — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Good computer skills in Word, Excel, etc.
- A proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervision role.
- Willingness to travel for the position.
