Fire Protection Design Project Manager — Role Overview

This critical role will oversee the design, coordination, and implementation of fire protection systems on large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Fire Protection Design Project Manager — Responsibilities

As a Fire Protection Design Project Manager, you will:

  • Establish and manage the detailed project scope.
  • Diligently manage project changes with a verifiable paper trail.
  • Deliver project milestones on time, logging and communicating any delays.
  • Undertake detailed design and drafting of sprinkler drawings.
  • Develop drawings and documentation to company fire protection standards.
  • Oversee the coordination process for installation drawings, ensuring client and SOP compliance.
  • Assess sub-contractor and supplier tenders for technical compliance.
  • Manage technical submittals, approvals, and material procurement through SAP.
  • Work with the CMT to ensure design, materials, manpower, and schedule alignment.
  • Ensure works are installed per project specifications and QA plan.
  • Prepare sub-contract and supplier tender packages.
  • Manage the Workpacks process from development to handover.
  • Develop and use forward-looking indicators to meet project objectives.
  • Ensure the fire protection system complies with all relevant standards.
  • Deliver accurate and detailed reports and attend site meetings.

Fire Protection Design Project Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Previous fire protection experience
  • BIM 3D/Revit experience
  • Ability to work to tight schedules/programmes
  • Excellent communication skills
