Fire Protection Construction Manager — Role Overview

This role provides an opportunity to own the project execution for fire protection systems, reporting to the Operations/Contracts Manager. The successful candidate will ensure projects are built according to scope, schedule, and budget, while also mentoring junior team members.

Fire Protection Construction Manager — Responsibilities

As Fire Protection Construction Manager, you will:

  • Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel under your management.
  • Establish the detailed scope for fire protection on this project.
  • Manage project changes diligently, ensuring a verifiable paper trail.
  • Ensure all work is planned and executed in strict alignment with the programme schedule.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure timely availability of materials, designs, and equipment.
  • Drive weekly and daily work plans.
  • Ensure all personnel understand change management processes, cost changes, and secure approvals before work commences.
  • Work with the planning department to develop a schedule that meets client needs and delivers milestones ahead of schedule.
  • Understand in detail the scope to be delivered and have a thorough understanding of the design.
  • Work with Client, Main Contractor, and Design department to clarify design deliverables and ensure design schedules are met.
  • Ensure team members have the required training to deliver project requirements.
  • Role model safe working practices and ensure the leadership team does the same.

Fire Protection Construction Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least 5 years' experience in the management of construction projects and multidisciplinary construction teams.
  • Demonstrated capability in Construction delivery within specialised industrial sectors including Life Sciences, Pharma, Mission Critical & Data-Centres, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience in promoting and ensuring exemplary standards of health and safety on construction projects.
  • Proven ability to understand and contribute to the development of project implementation for construction projects.
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of all elements of project delivery: start-up and ramp; execution; ramp down.
  • Understanding of scope change control.
  • Understanding of the project schedule and ability to monitor progress.
