Electrical Supervisor — Role Overview
This Electrical Supervisor role is critical to the successful execution of electrical installations on a major project. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with various teams to meet project deadlines.
Electrical Supervisor — Responsibilities
As an Electrical Supervisor, you will:
- Manage site safety, including setting up, managing, and closing out safety files.
- Liaise with Site QA and the Electrical Package Manager to ensure 'Right First Time' installations.
- Manage the project schedule in conjunction with other trades, Package Leads, consulting engineers, and client requirements.
- Manage all day-to-day on-site electrical operations.
- Manage subcontractor activities, track progress, and monitor manpower levels; hold weekly meetings.
- Manage the snagging system and issue weekly punch lists.
- Issue direct labor and subcontractor hours for central tracking.
- Attend site meetings, project reviews, engineering reviews, and handover meetings.
- Close out project items, including O&M manuals, punch lists, safety files, and QA files.
- Implement a weekly look-ahead schedule for coordination.
- Issue internal weekly progress reports, highlighting progress and risks.
- Schedule material deliveries to align with the project schedule and maintain a photographic diary.
- Assign work according to construction schedules.
- Manage productivity and meet work goals.
- Ensure construction materials are ordered and available.
- Keep progress records of activities.
- Monitor personnel attendance and performance.
- Plan and schedule projects, estimate time and materials, and supervise subordinates.
- Provide technical guidance and support during installations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Recommend procedure revisions to optimize personnel and equipment utilization.
- Inspect work for compliance with procedures and electrical assignments.
- Liaise with Engineering for conformance with standards.
- Prepare progress reports for management.
Electrical Supervisor — Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A trade background with 5-10 years of experience supervising large installation crews and subcontractors.
- A proven record of supervising and managing large installation projects.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
- Experience in design and build projects.
- Good technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work well within strict deadlines.
- The ability to drive large-scale projects.
