Electrical Supervisor — Role Overview

This Electrical Supervisor role is critical to the successful execution of complex electrical installations. The successful candidate will manage on-site operations, supervise subcontractors, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Electrical Supervisor — Responsibilities

As Electrical Supervisor, you will:

  • Manage site safety in conjunction with the Safety Advisor, including safety file management.
  • Liaise with Site QA and the Electrical Package Manager for 'Right First Time' installation.
  • Manage the project schedule in conjunction with other trades, Package Leads, consulting engineers, and client requirements.
  • Manage all day-to-day on-site electrical operations.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, tracking progress and manpower levels, and hold weekly minuted meetings.
  • Manage the 'In Progress' snagging system and issue weekly punch lists.
  • Issue direct labor and subcontractor hours to the time administrator.
  • Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover meetings.
  • Close out project items, including O&M manuals, punch lists, safety files, and QA files, with the support of the Electrical Package Manager.
  • Implement a weekly look-ahead plan, coordinating with other trades.
  • Issue internal weekly progress reports highlighting progress, concerns, and risk elements.
  • Schedule material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule and maintain a weekly photographic diary.
  • Assign work in line with construction schedules.
  • Manage productivity and meet work goals.
  • Contribute to improved construction practices and designs.
  • Perform administrative duties as required.
  • Ensure construction materials are ordered and inventory is available.
  • Keep progress records of activities.
  • Monitor and track personnel attendance and performance.
  • Plan and schedule projects, estimate time and materials, supervise subordinates, maintain records and files, and prepare reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during installations.
  • Ensure safety standards and compliance with quality standards codes are met.
  • Recommend procedure revisions to fully utilize personnel and equipment.
  • Inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments.
  • Liaise with Engineering to ensure conformance with standards.
  • Attend construction meetings as required.
  • Prepare progress reports for management.

Electrical Supervisor — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A trade background.
  • 5-10 years of experience supervising large installation crews and subcontractors.
  • A proven record of supervising and managing large installation projects.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Experience in design and build projects.
  • Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within strict deadlines.
  • Ability to drive a large-scale project.
