Electrical Project Manager — Role Overview

This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of electrical aspects of construction projects. You will support the project team in managing schedules, costs, and site operations for electrical contractors.

Electrical Project Manager — Responsibilities

As an Electrical Project Manager Intern, you will:

  • Manage electrical site safety and QA in conjunction with the project team.
  • Manage project schedules, ensuring activity targets/deadlines are met.
  • Manage costs associated with electrical packages, ensuring on-schedule material and equipment delivery.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations for electrical contractors, tracking progress and manpower levels.
  • Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, and coordination meetings.
  • Support engineering requirements by liaising with key project stakeholders.
  • Review drawings and specifications to fully understand project scope.
  • Manage the quality needs for all electrical packages on site, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Assist in evaluating tenders and cost analysis of electrical packages.
  • Prepare and share regular progress reports.

Electrical Project Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A trade and/or relevant third qualification
  • 5-10 years previous experience in Project Management
  • Proven record of coordinating and managing large installation projects
  • Experience dealing with IR issues
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Experience in design and build
  • Good Technical Knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment
  • Ability to drive a large-scale project
