Electrical Project Manager — Role Overview

This Electrical Project Manager role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of electrical systems on mission-critical projects. You will lead electrical teams, manage stakeholders, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

Electrical Project Manager — Responsibilities

As Electrical Project Manager, you will:

  • Report to the Project Manager and lead all electrical scope delivery.
  • Establish performance criteria and liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Chair weekly reviews and ensure transparent KPI reporting.
  • Direct electrical teams, setting objectives and allocating resources.
  • Champion safety and quality, enforcing "Right First Time" and COHE/LOTO requirements.
  • Develop constructible schedules and monitor progress.
  • Manage variations and valuations with Quantity Surveyors.
  • Review IFC designs and resolve RFIs.
  • Oversee installation, testing, and integration of electrical systems (UPS, STS, EPMS, generators, etc.).
  • Coordinate with CSA/Mechanical/ICT teams for seamless system interfaces.
  • Plan FAT/SAT, pre-functional tests, and energisation steps.
  • Ensure compliance with German regulatory requirements (Baustellenverordnung, VOB/HOAI, DGUV).
  • Implement BIM collaboration in an ISO 19650-aligned Common Data Environment (CDE).

Electrical Project Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Trade background and/or degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience leading large electrical installation projects, ideally mission-critical/data centers.
  • Strong command of MV/LV power distribution, UPS/generator systems, EPMS/BMS integration and commissioning.
  • Proven programme, commercial and stakeholder management skills; fluent English.
  • Working knowledge of DIN VDE 0100/IEC 60364, EN/IEC 61439, DIN 14675, and site EHS governance.
  • Experience delivering projects to EN 50600 and familiarity with EU EED/EnEfG obligations for data centers.
  • Hands-on BIM/CDE (ISO 19650) workflows and 4D planning integration.
  • Knowledge of VOB/B and HOAI phases; experience coordinating grid connections to VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 and TAB requirements.
  • DGUV arc-flash assessment and PPE selection experience; authoring of switching procedures and energisation plans.
  • Strong negotiation skills and supply-chain resilience planning for long-lead equipment (UPS, generators, switchgear).
  • Energy efficiency (data centers): support EnEfG obligations (PUE targets, renewable sourcing share, waste heat reuse ERF) and EU EED reporting as required.
