Electrical Package Manager — Role Overview

As Electrical Package Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of the electrical systems package on site. You will ensure the project aligns with safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

Electrical Package Manager — Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Electrical Systems package.
  • Managing Site Safety in conjunction with the Electrical project manager and the Safety Advisor, including setup, management, and closeout of the safety file.
  • Driving a focused Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental culture within your team.
  • Managing Site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager, including setup, management, and close out of file.
  • Managing the Project Schedule in conjunction with the Project manager, consulting Engineer and Client requirements.
  • Managing all costs associated with your package, including the Electrical Team, sub-contractors, material deliveries, plant and equipment, variations, and valuations.
  • Managing all day-to-day site operations.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are followed closely.
  • Managing sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels, and ensuring weekly meetings.
  • Managing the “In Progress” snagging system, ensuring supervisors return weekly punch lists and snags are distributed to sub-contractors.
  • Issuing direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to time administrator.
  • Attending Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings.
  • Closing out all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, and Project Plan, with the support of the site project manager and project team.
  • Issuing weekly cost reports, including all orders placed, materials expected, and labour levels.
  • Issuing internal weekly progress reports rolled up from project supervisors, highlighting progress percentage complete based on WBS codes, concerns, and risk elements.
  • Issuing external weekly progress reports to the project manager, highlighting areas not available, delays, shortage of design, third party hold ups and percentage complete.
  • Scheduling material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule and track deliveries.
  • Maintaining a weekly project photographic diary.
  • Performing all other duties associated with the role.

Electrical Package Manager — Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A trade and/or relevant third level qualification
  • Minimum 5-10 years previous experience in Project Management
  • Proven record of coordinating and managing large installation projects
  • Experience dealing with Industrial Relations issues
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Experience in design and build
  • Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well within strict deadlines
  • Ability to drive a large-scale project
